This video is approximately 17 minutes long (221 MB).  It is a windows media video file (wmv) and best played with Windows Media Player or compatible program.

The first 13 minutes of video were shot while holding the video camera resting on the dashboard of the car.  The last 4 minutes were shot from a camera mounted on the handlebars of a motorcycle to give contrast in impact of the speed humps on at least two vehicle types.

The first clip is of a speed hump located on Perry Lane just a couple of blocks west of the 45th street exit from MOPAC in Austin.  Proceeding from there, I went east and crossed under MOPAC then took a left turn to head north.  This street ultimately gains access to northbound MOPAC.  There are three speed humps on this street perhaps half a block apart.  After a couple of clips at this location, I went cross town to a speed hump on Northcrest Blvd just north of St. Johns avenue.  This speed hump is different in that it consists of three humps with valleys that are wide enough apart to provide free and level passage of emergency vehicles.

(The clips taken from the motorcycle consist of only the speed humps close to MOPAC since a motorcycle could easily avoid a hump like that on Northcrest Blvd by passing through the valley that remains at pavement level.)
