Home Speeding on Venture Drive Venture Blvd Stop Sign Speed Humps Traffic Patrol Reports
| |
The Village council is conducting studies to determine if there are problems due to motorists driving in excess of our 30 mph posted limit and running stop signs. The attached reports indicate there is a problem with speeding on Venture Blvd.
Possible action may include speed humps
(click to see examples used in Austin) in problem areas. If you know of anyone who is violating the posted speed limit, please let them know their actions may cause all citizens the hardship of enduring speed humps. Please ask them to drive safely and within the posted limits.
On March 14 and again on March 17, 2006, video surveillance recorded over 25 drivers who ran the stop sign at the intersection of Venture Blvd, Venture Blvd South, and Venture Blvd North within the half hour of 6:30 - 7:00 AM.
If you obtain the license number of a violator, you can email it with a description of the vehicle to the trafficcontrol@vopv.org.
We will do our best to contact the owner of the vehicle.
Please help us get the word out. Your council does not want to take further action but must try to keep our roadways safe for all to enjoy. Video surveillance and speed monitoring will continue as we collect data in this study. Please drive so you will be counted as one of the many safe drivers on the streets of the Village of Point Venture.
Thank you.
